Sheep Proof

Contrary to popular opinion, humans are like sheep. They tend to do what others do and did before them.


That’s the reason why more and more companies rely on social media marketing and influencers. When potential customers see a famous person use a product, they automatically trust the product and the company behind it. That is social proof.


It also works out of business. For instance, if you’re afraid of eating some weird food, you’ll ask your friend to taste it beforehand. If you’re afraid to jump off a cliff, you’ll let your confident friend jump ahead so you can better see there’s nothing dangerous.


This is how we are.


We feel more comfortable knowing that other people tried and tested what we’re afraid to take our hands on.
